"Happy New Year

 "Happy New Year

Finally, the last sun of 2023 has set, and the sun of 2024 has risen with new hopes. Wishing the entire nation a happy new year.

Ask anyone only about their date of birth according to the Gregorian calendar, or what the Gregorian date is on days other than specific ones, and it will be apparent that the nation's purpose is nothing more than searching for trivial topics beyond the lunar debate.

The moon and the sun have their own positions in the workshop of nature, and their creator has set a measure of time for both. With that said, can we, with love for Jesus (peace be upon him), deny and preserve faith? Another important point is that all around the world, the arrangements for income and expenses, travel documents, conferences, and events revolve around the Gregorian calendar. Despite the love for the Hijri, Islamic, or lunar year, the rule of the Gregorian and solar years dominates the world.

It is known that there are many calendars in the world,

but in some way or another, they are connected to either the solar or lunar scale. We have three types of calendars, two of which are solar and one lunar, namely the Christian, Gregorian, and Hijri calendars. In basic scientific terms, a solar year is the time it takes for the Earth to complete one orbit around the Sun. This period is approximately 365 days, 6 hours, and 9 minutes. Since we count the year as 365 days, our year is slightly shorter than the actual year, and this deficiency increases with each passing year. To compensate for this, Roman Emperor Julius Caesar added an extra day every fourth year, making every fourth year 366 days long, and this year is called a leap year.

Similarly, in Persia, the solar year is also used. It is the culmination of centuries of experiences. Even today, people can be seen arranging their agriculture and livestock based on this calendar. Just like the Christian year, it also has leap years. It begins with harvesting on the first day of Baisakh. This is so crucial that the British government had to start the financial year in India from April 1st.

On the other hand, the lunar year is approximately 11 days shorter than the solar year. It includes the time between two moonrises. This time is 29 or 30 days, and we know well that it depends on many changes in seasons and dates, meaning that festivals, Ramadan, and other events sometimes fall in December and sometimes in June.

Now, let's talk about congratulations,

whether it's the lunar year or the Christian year. If you fulfilled the promises, projects, and goals you set in the past year and have organized a list of actions based on the lessons learned from your mistakes, then congratulations are in order. Otherwise, if you're just looking for an excuse not to dance, any small or big opportunity can be found in the new year.

The beginning and end of the day and year are the best times to account for mistakes made and to plan a list of actions for the coming days. We have always heard that time slips away like sand through our fingers, but in reality, no one is ready to believe it. People are experts in wasting time, whether it's in meaningless discussions, unnecessary praise, or just watching a passerby on the street. On the other hand, any potential emotional opportunity, we do not let go, and we attribute complete abstinence from action to success.

Individually and socially,

let's make just a few decisions and then commit to them so that change is possible in the days to come, not just in words but in actions. Let's avoid lies, corruption, bribery, and recommendations, and instead start with giving merit and importance to our duties. Then, it will not be difficult for progress to begin in our beloved country. But the dilemma is that after all those slogans and promises, when it comes to ourselves or our loved ones, all the effort is seen only in finding the right or wrong path."
