Humanity is Drifting Away from Its Purpose of Creation
When Allah Almighty created the universe and decided to create humans, His beloved angel, who later turned against this creation, questioned the decision. The angel argued that humans would spread corruption on Earth. However, Allah defended His creation, stating that humans would be ambassadors of peace and play a key role in beautifying the world.
Has humanity upheld this trust? Has it honored this belief? This remains an important question for the past, present, and future.
The greed for power and possession has dominated humans, leading them to commit atrocities against their kind. History is a witness to this: in the pursuit of land, millions have been killed. The British Empire, once ruling half the world, expanded its dominion by brutally oppressing weaker nations, treating human lives as mere commodities.
A recent web series, The Last Kingdom, portrays how Britain's global dominance came at the cost of countless lives and bloodshed. Similarly, historical figures like Genghis Khan and Hulagu Khan from Central Asia left behind terrifying tales of destruction. Alexander the Great pursued world conquest at the expense of millions of lives. The alliance of Hitler and Mussolini aimed to seize Europe but ultimately met their downfall. The so-called developed nations, who now claim leadership of the world, built their empires on human suffering—a legacy that continues to this day.
The Indian subcontinent has always been a coveted region for invaders. From Persian and Afghan conquerors to the Mughal Empire, foreign rulers have exploited its riches. The British East India Company seized power from the Mughals and ruled for nearly a century, committing countless atrocities. Historians and filmmakers continue to depict these horrifying events.
Despite the fact that most people in the world follow religions that preach peace, why do they act in contradiction to their beliefs?
Looking at global conflicts, one sees a troubling trend—millions have perished in wars, yet humanity has learned nothing from past bloodshed. The greed for expansion persists, with modern powers engaged in conflicts under banners like Greater America, Greater Israel, Greater Britain, Greater China, Greater Russia, and Greater India. Regions such as Gaza, Ukraine, Russia, Lebanon, Syria, Somalia, and Yemen stand as recent examples of how warfare is destroying the planet.
Beyond military conflicts, economic exploitation plays a significant role. Powerful nations use major banks to provide loans to weaker countries under harsh conditions, ultimately controlling their economies. Sri Lanka’s recent financial collapse is a prime example. Developing nations are often left with no choice but to accept these exploitative terms. Global alliances, formed to protect the interests of powerful nations, dictate terms to weaker countries and enforce policies that keep them subdued. Venezuela is a glaring example of resistance against such oppression.
Even within nations, disputes over land and power continue to claim lives. In Pakistan, the Kurram region has seen violent sectarian clashes over a small piece of land, leading to hundreds of deaths. Security forces are engaged in operations to control the situation, yet neither side is willing to compromise.
The history of human conflicts—filled with killings, land grabs, and power struggles—is too vast to encapsulate in a single article. It seems that humanity has forgotten the teachings of God and His messengers. A new world order has emerged, dominated by chaos, violence, oppression, and the relentless pursuit of destructive weaponry.
Surprisingly, even developing nations have prioritized nuclear weapons and military advancements over peace and prosperity. Climate change, natural disasters, and environmental crises appear to be nature’s way of retaliating against humanity’s recklessness. Uncontrollable wildfires, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis, extreme temperatures, and relentless storms are all warning signs—yet humanity refuses to change its ways.
If people fail to heed these warnings, it seems inevitable that God will bring forth the Day of Judgment sooner than expected. The need of the hour is to listen to the Creator and strive to build a society that aligns with His vision. Humanity must remember: after being expelled from the Garden of Eden, it was given the Earth. But if expelled from Earth, where will it go?
